The First Baptist Church of Monett will hold its first service in the new building on Sunday, June 5.
A transition service will begin at 9:15 a.m. at the current building, located on the corner of Fourth and Dunn. Those attending will then move to the new building, located south of Monett on Highway 37, for a service that will begin at 10:30 a.m.
The church construction project began approximately five years ago when the church bought 80 acres south of town. Ground was broken on the building project on July 11, 2010.
The completed church is 15,500 square feet, containing 16 classrooms. The sanctuary will seat 274 people and features a full stage with state-of-the-art sound equipment. The basement is focused on children's classrooms.
