In June, nature breaks forth in all its warm weather splendor. June Calendar Girl Dayna Swanson enjoyed the display of roses growing at the home of Phil and Rachel Knepper at 618 Sixth St. The daughter of Paul and Terri Swanson, Dayna, who graduated this spring, was a member of Future Business Leaders of America, in which she qualified for state competition, Book Club, Art Club and Key Club. She qualified for district competition in cross country as a freshman. She has worked on a local farm for five years, given swim lessons for the YMCA, and worked as a waitress at Bootleggers and Sonic, a kennel assistant at the Monett Veterinary Hospital and in the concession stand at the Monett North Park. She attends Monett Community Church. Dayna has two brothers, Chad and Trevor, and a sister, Laura, and two adopted sisters, Emily and Tiffynee, and an adopted brother, Sam. The family has two cats, Cuddles and Nobi, two dogs, Buddy and Tiny, and a lizard named Lizzie. Dayna plans to attend Oklahoma State University this fall to major in animal science and become a veterinarian. [Times Photo by Murray Bishoff]
