Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 6/01/11

Receipts:  880    Last Week:  1061    Last Year:  1658

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold 1.00-2.00 higher and
slaughter bulls sold steady to 1.00 lower. A very high percent of the
offering went to slaughter. The supply of bred cows and cow/calf pairs
was light and scattered. There was no problem finding a parking place or
a seat at the barn today as most producers were headed for the hay field
once their cattle were delivered. Supply was moderate and demand good for
slaughter classes.
