Three separate wrecks yesterday in Lawrence County have left three people injured.
The first occurred at 3:55 p.m. on Highway 174 two miles west of Chesapeake when the driver of a 1990 Ford Bronco, Teresa Goodman, 58, of Mt. Vernon, went off the right side of the roadway then overcorrected, losing control of the vehicle. The vehicle then overturned and Goodman was ejected. Goodman was taken to St. John's Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries.
A second crash occurred at 5:35 p.m. at the junctions of Farm Roads 1235 and 2200 one mile south of Marionville when the driver of a 1991 Buick, Tabatha E. Stark, 19, of Billings, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a 2005 Dodge Magnum, driven by Jennifer S. Vanderhoof, 54, of Aurora. Stark was taken to St. John's Hospital in Springfield with moderate injuries.
The third crash occurred at 10 p.m. on Highway 37 two miles west of Monett when the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet HHR, Shirley A. Nation, 35, of Pierce City, struck a cow in the roadway and traveled off the road, striking a fence. Nation was taken to Cox Monett Hospital with minor injuries.
