The Tom Wolfe Memorial Post #4207 Ladies Auxiliary will host lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18 at the Post home, located on Highway 60 west of Monett. The cost is $5. The menu will be hamburger steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, vegetables, salad, dessert, coffee or tea.

St. Mary's 24th annual old-fashioned festival will be held on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church grounds in Pierce City. Mass on Saturday begins at 4 p.m., and the festival starts at 5 p.m. Mass on Sunday begins at 8:30 a.m., and the festival begins at 11 a.m.

The Monett Sportsmen's League will be hosting a fishing derby from 8 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 21 at Monett South Park. The event is for children 15 years and younger. Bait will be furnished, and refreshments will be provided.

MoDOT Southwest District crews will reopen the Route 37 bridge over Wentworth Hollow, which closed in mid-March for replacement, on May 18, weather permitting. When the bridge is open, crews will begin replacing the Route 97 bridge, located seven miles north of Pierce City. Motorists can take Route 97 to I-44 to Route 37 during the closure. The bridge should be reopened by mid-July.

Cox Monett Hospital Auxiliary's seventh annual salad luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 20 at the First United Methodist Church in Monett. Over 40 salads will be offered with croissants, crackers, desserts and a drink. Carry-out containers will be available. Tickets are $6, and recipe books will be for sale for $2. A benefit spaghetti and auction will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 at the Crane Community Center. Proceeds will go toward increasing the reward in the efforts to locate the missing Willard couple, Rebecca and Rusty Porter.

The Hospice Compassus staff will be hosting a memorial service honoring loved ones from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24 at the Aurora First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, located at 39 W. Pleasant St. Those attending are invited to bring a photograph of a loved one for the memory table.

A spaghetti dinner will be held at the Hobbs Anderson American Legion Hall in Monett at 717 E. Broadway from 5 to 7 p.m. on May 19. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Carryouts are available. Proceeds go toward the Legion youth programs.

A book and garage sale will be held at the Monett Branch Library, located at 213 Sixth St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 3 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 4. An early bird sale will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 2 for Friends of the Library group members in the library district. The sale is sponsored by the Monett Friends of the Library group to raise matching dollars for the Gates Foundation Grant. The funds will help with the purchase of new computers for all branches of the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library.
