Three people hurt in traffic crashes

A Monett man and a Cassville man were hurt in a single-vehicle crash at 10:15 p.m. on Friday five miles south of Cassville.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Josť Martinez, 30, of Monett, was driving north on Highway 112 in a 2000 Lincoln when the car ran off the right side of the roadway and then returned, running off the left side of the road and striking a tree.

Martinez, who was wearing a safety belt, received serious injuries and was taken to Cox Hospital South-Springfield for treatment. William Sweat, 15, of Cassville, a passenger in the car who was not wearing a safety belt, received moderate injuries and was also transported to Cox South.

* James Farris, 42, of Golden, was hurt in a single vehicle crash at 5 p.m. on Saturday one mile north of Golden. Farris was driving a 1990 Toyota 4-Runner west on Farm Road 2260 when the driver experienced a medical condition. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and overturned. Farris, who was wearing a safety device, received minor injuries and was transported to St. John's Hospital-Berryville, Ark., for treatment.
