The Tom Wolfe Memorial Post #4207 Ladies Auxiliary will host lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18 at the Post home, located on Highway 60 west of Monett. The cost is $5. The menu will be hamburger steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, vegetable, salad, dessert, coffee or tea.

Cox Monett Hospital Auxiliary's seventh annual salad luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 20 at the First United Methodist Church in Monett. Over 40 salads will be offered with croissants, crackers, desserts and a drink. Carry-out containers will be available. Tickets are $6, and recipe books will be for sale for $2. The Monett Chamber of Commerce will host the May membership mingle from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 19 at the Walmart garden center in Monett. The entry deadline for livestock competitions at the 2011 Ozark Empire Fair is Wednesday, June 15, and poultry and rabbit entries are due on July 1. Information, including online entries, is available at or the livestock department at 417-883-2660. The deadline for entering photographs, quilts and artwork is Saturday, June 25. Garden and flower registration deadline is July 10. The Ozark Empire Fair will be held July 29 through Aug. 7 in Springfield at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds.

A benefit spaghetti and auction will be held at 5 p.m. at the Crane Community Center. Proceeds will go toward increasing the reward in the efforts to locate the missing Willard couple, Rebecca and Rusty Porter.

"Give A Hoot" 5K and one mile walk, which will benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Monett, will begin at 11:59 p.m. on May 21 starting at the Monett Intermediate School drive. A spaghetti dinner will be held at the Hobbs Anderson American Legion Hall in Monett at 717 E. Broadway from 5 to 7 p.m. on May 19. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Carryouts are available. Proceeds go toward the Legion youth programs.

The Aurora Eagles will hold its first annual arts and craft festival on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22 on the Eagles grounds, located at the Highway K and ZZ intersection two miles north of Aurora. For more information, call 417-861-0213.
