Springfield-Springfield Livestock Marketing Center: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 5/09/2011

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

Receipts: 495 Last Week: 397 Last Year: 642

Compared to last Monday, slaughter cows sold 2.00-4.00 lower with the
greatest decline on some high-dressing breaking and boning cows. Slaughter
bulls sold steady. There was a moderate supply of bred cows with most in the
2nd stage and the supply of cow/calf pairs was very light. Warmer weather
moved into the area over the weekend and dryer conditions encouraged a few
to lay down some hay. Supply and demand were moderate for slaughter classes.
