Record number headed to nationals

The Monett High School Speech and Debate team has qualified a record number of students for the National Forensic League's National Tournament, which will be held this June in Dallas, Texas. The annual Forensics Follies and pie auction will be 7 p.m. on Monday, May 11 at the Monett City Hall auditorium. Students who have qualified for the state and national tournaments will be performing their selections. In addition, desserts will be auctioned off with proceeds helping to fund the costs of the National Tournament. The community is encouraged to attend Monday night's event. The MHS speech and debate team is coached by Marilyn Mann.
