The Angel Food Ministry will take orders for May from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 5 and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7 at the First Presbyterian Church of Monett, located at 700 Sycamore. Payment must be made at the time the order is placed, and cash, money order or food stamps are accepted. The cost of an Angel Food box is $35.

The Barry County Health Department will be closed on Monday, May 9 in observance of President Truman's birthday.

Cox Monett Hospital Auxiliary's seventh annual salad luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 20 at the First United Methodist Church in Monett. Over 40 salads will be offered with croissants, crackers, desserts and a drink. Carry-out containers will be available. Tickets are $6, and recipe books will be for sale for $2. The Monett High School speech and debate team will present its competitive readers production of "That Takes Ovaries" and the one-act play, "Honus and Me", at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12 at the Monett Middle School. There is no cost, but donations for the national qualifiers will be accepted.

The Purdy Special Road District will meet at 6 p.m. on May 9 at the Purdy District Road Barn, located on Farm Road 1085,

The Southern Missouri Beekeepers of Monett will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17 at the Kevin Young farm, located south of Cassville. The subject of the meeting will be queen raising. For more information, call 235-5053 or 235-7726.

A multi-family garage sale fundraiser will be held from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 13 and from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at 505 Clayton Ave. in Billings. All proceeds from the garage sale will be donated to the American Diabetes Association. Take Highway 60 east to Billings, turn right on Terrill Creek and left on Clayton Avenue.

The second annual Schreiber Relay for Life poker run will be held at 10 a.m. on May 14 at the Mt. Vernon Schreiber plant located at 108 W. North St. Participants can pre-register by May 7 for $20 or $25 on the day of the event. Passengers can pre-register for $10 or $15 on the day of the event. A western dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on May 14 at the Stella Senior Center featuring Kevin Hughes and Rowdy Creek. Those attending are asked to bring one dish for pot luck. The admission is $4. Western Day with Cowboy Poets will be held on May 21 at the center.

The Missouri Child Identification and Protection Program (MOCHIP) will be held at the Monett Masonic Lodge at 501 13th St. on May 7. MOCHIP is a comprehensive child identification and protection program designed to provide families with a proactive means of preparation if the child or teen is missing. The program is provided free.
