The Pierce City Angel Food Ministries will be taking orders from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 7 at the First Congregational Church, UCC, located at Walnut and Washington. The May menu features 12 boxes and contain a variety of foods designed to feed a family of four for a week. The boxes range in price from $17 to $51 and payment must be made at the time the order is placed. Payment can be made by cash, money order or food stamps. Orders can be placed online at through Wednesday, May 11.

The Monett City Council will meet in special session at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 5 in the city hall council room.

The Barry County Courthouse and Judicial Center will be closed on Monday, May 9 in observance of President Truman's birthday.

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) will be holding the following blood drives: 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, May 6 at Fairview Mennonite School; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, May 6 at the Wheaton High School.

The Stella Masonic Lodge #538 will host its annual all-you-can-eat pulled pork dinner from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 at the lodge hall, located next to the Stella Post Office. The menu will consist of pulled pork, baked beans, potato salad, dessert, coffee or tea. The cost for adults is $8 and $3 for children age 10 and under. Carry-outs are available. The Seligman community dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 5 at the Seligman community building. The cost is $4 and the featured band is Frosty Garland and the Road Hogs. The dance is sponsored by the Seligman Lions Club. For more information, call 417-846-5355.

Barry County Girl Scouts will host a chicken dinner fundraiser on Saturday, May 7 on the square in Cassville during the Dogwood Car and Truck Show from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost for a meal is $5, and proceeds will go toward the cost of Barry County Day Camp for girls.

A book and garage sale will be held at the Monett Branch Library, located at 213 Sixth St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 3 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 4. An early bird sale will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 2 for Friends of the Library group members in the library district. The sale is sponsored by the Monett Friends of the Library group to raise matching dollars for the Gates Foundation Grant. The funds will help with the purchase of new computers for all branches of the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library.

A spaghetti dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at the Decatur Lodge #400, located at 107 N. Walnut in Pierce City. The cost for adults is $5 and $3 for children. A portion of the proceeds will go toward the Pierce City backpack program.

The third annual Mustang Mania car show will be held on June 11 at Oak Park in Aurora, located on Business Highway 60. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. Entry fee is $15 on the day of the show or $12 before June 3. For more information, contact the Aurora Chamber of Commerce at 417-678-4150.
