Springfield-Springfield Livestock Marketing Center: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 5/02/2011

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

Receipts: 397 Last Week: 209 Last Year: 844

Compared to last Monday, breaking and boning slaughter cows sold 2.00-
3.00 higher while lean cows sold 1.00 higher and slaughter bulls sold 3.00
higher. Rain yesterday evening and this morning along with cool temperatures
likely limited receipts again today. Most of the offering went to slaughter
with the supply of bred cows and cow/calf pairs very light. Supply was light
and demand good for slaughter classes.
