The Tom Wolfe Memorial Post #4207 Ladies Auxiliary will host lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4 at the Post home, located on Highway 60 west of Monett. The cost is $5. The menu will be pot roast, potatoes, carrots, salad, dessert, coffee or tea.

The Hobbs-Anderson American Legion Post #91 of Monett will be hosting a flag retirement ceremony at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3 at Monett South Park across from the playground.

The Verona R-7 School Board will have a special meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3 in the FACS room.

The Purdy R-2 School District will be holding a kindergarten screening from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12 in the cafeteria. To schedule an appointment, call 417-442-3217.

Love in Action and Graffiti Cross Street Outreach will be hosting a clothing giveaway from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 12 at Spiritual Streams Outreach, located at 19320 State Highway 112 in Cassville.

The Missouri Child Identification and Protection Program (MOCHIP) will be held at the Monett Masonic Lodge at 501 13th St. on May 7. MOCHIP is a comprehensive child identification and protection program designed to provide families with a proactive means of preparation if the child or teen is missing. The program is provided free. The spring cleaning meeting of the Kings Prairie Community Association will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 5 at the old school, located off of Highway Z on Farm Road 2015 at the power substation. The public is invited to attend, and snacks will be served.

The Open Farmers Market of Aurora will hold its annual meeting at 6 p.m. on May 6 in the basement of the Barry-Lawrence County Library, located on Jefferson Street in Aurora. The Seligman Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its spring train ride on Saturday, May 14. The Arkansas and Missouri train will come to Seligman and pick up passengers to go to Van Buren, Ark., and back. This is an all-day trip and will include a visit to Arts and Crafts Days in Van Buren. Snacks will be served on the trip. The cost for first class and caboose is $80 for adults, $72 for seniors age 62 and older, and $35 for children. A spaghetti dinner, art show and auction will be held on May 5 at St. Mary's gymnasium in Pierce City. The dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by the art auction and drawing at 7 p.m. The cost of the dinner is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to12. Children under the age of 5 can attend for free.
