In May, the leaves on trees explode from green buds into canopies of shade, and the outdoors becomes a playground again. May Calendar Girl Madison Marie Carlin is shown in the scenic beauty of Monett's South Park. The daughter of Greg and Hiedi Carlin, Madison is an active athlete at Monett High School, currently competing on the track team, where she has been the conference champion in the 100 meter high hurdles in 2009 and 2010. She has been captain of the volleyball team for two years and a four-year participant in basketball, volleyball and track. Madison is a member of M-Club, Student Council, the National Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society and participated in Future Business Leaders of America. Her pastimes include painting, exercising, spending time with family and caring for the family's two dogs, Molly and Chance, along with four pigs and 14 chickens. She has a younger brother, Mitchell, and attends New Site Baptist Church. Madison has received her CNA and CPR certificates through the health occupations program at the Southwest Area Career Center. She plans to attend Ozark Technical College in the fall and become a registered nurse. [Times Photo by Murray Bishoff]
