Monett High School music students, who will be going to state in solos and ensembles will perform at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 28 at Denali Dreams located at 316 E. Broadway in Monett.

Antidote will be performing at the Family Worship Center of Monett at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 30. The church is located on Highway 37 at Farm Pro. The event is sponsored by Freedom Worship Center of Rogers, Ark. For more information, call 417-389-3027 or 479-502-5291.

MoDOT is not closing the Larry Gene Taylor bridge, located on Route 39. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, rumors stating the bridge is unsafe because of the force of the rising water are false. Crews are monitoring the lake levels, and if water begins to flow over the bridge, it could be closed, but as of 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, there are no plans to close the bridge.

Prepared childbirth class will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on May 5, 12, 19 and 26 at Cox Monett Hospital. The class will be held in conference room C located on the third floor of the hospital. Registration is required for all classes. For more information or to register, call 354-1409.

The second annual Barry County livestock scholarship fund heifer auction will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at the Cassville High School agriculture building. The Purdy R-2 School District will be holding a kindergarten screening from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12 in the cafeteria. To schedule an appointment, call 417-442-3217.

The Missouri Child Identification and Protection Program (MOCHIP) will be held at the Monett Masonic Lodge at 501 13th St. on May 7. MOCHIP is a comprehensive child identification and protection program designed to provide families with a proactive means of preparation if the child or teen is missing. The program is provided free. A honor flight poker run, sponsored by Aurora 3948 Eagle Riders, will be held on May 1. Registrations will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Aurora Eagles, located at the intersection of Highway K and ZZ, two miles north of Aurora. Monett Legion baseball tryouts will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 1 at Monett North Park. In case of rain, the tryouts will be rescheduled for 2 p.m. on May 7.
