The Arnhart Cemetery Association will hold its annual clean-up meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7. Volunteers are needed to move dirt, straighten stones and remove debris. Those attending are asked to bring hand tools. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held on May 14.
The Missouri Child Identification and Protection Program (MOCHIP) will be at the Monett Masonic Lodge at 501 13th St. on May 7. MOCHIP is a comprehensive child identification and protection program designed to provide families with a proactive means of preparation if the child or teen is missing. The program is provided free. A honor flight poker run, sponsored by Aurora 3948 Eagle Riders, will be held on May 1. Registration will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Aurora Eagles, located at the intersection of Highway K and ZZ, two miles north of Aurora. All proceeds will go toward Ozarks Honor Flight. The Purdy R-2 School District will host a free luncheon for all senior citizens at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30 in the school cafeteria. Purdy students will participate in part of the cooking, program design, serving, decorations and entertainment. Door prizes will be awarded. Reservations are requested but not required. Transportation will be available upon request. The menu will include: baked chicken, roast, potatoes, vegetables, hot rolls, dessert and drinks. Monett Legion baseball tryouts will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 1 at Monett North Park. In case of rain, the tryouts will be rescheduled to 2 p.m. on May 7.
The first Relay for Life softball tournament will be held on April 30 at the Aurora White Park softball fields. The field is limited to eight teams, and the cost is $150 per team.
