Prisoners: pretty in pink

Thursday, April 21, 2011

Lawrence County Sheriff Brad DeLay and three deputies supervised a group of low-risk inmates as they picked up trash along Highway 39 south of Mt. Vernon on Wednesday. DeLay said this is the first time he has utilized inmates to perform community service of this type. Pictured above are inmates Dana Preteroti, Dibby Robinson, Samuel Paternostro and Terry Swofford, under the watchful eye of DeLay. If the initial experience goes well, DeLay plans to continue utilizing inmate labor to help clean up the roadways in Lawrence County.

I feel that is good for the inmates to help others or the beauty of our country. Maybe they will wake up and reliaze they have something to live for.
