Wanted: info on cold case

Thursday, April 21, 2011

Over the last 39 years, the family of Chris (Nickle) Seal has clung to the hope of discovering what happened to the young mother who disappeared from her home near Verona.

Family members and law enforcement officers are hoping that a book, written by Barbara Highton, could lead to new tips in Seal's case.

On June 19, 1972, Seal disappeared from her home without a trace. Her 2-year-old son was found alone in the home. Hundreds searched the area on foot, horseback and motorcycle and in planes, Seal was never located.

Local law enforcement agencies received many leads, but the mystery of Seal's disappearance remains unsolved.

Seal is the daughter of Doyle and Trudy Nickle and the brother of Bruce Nickle, all of Cassville.

Individuals who have information on Seal's disappearance are encouraged to call Barry County Sheriff Mick Epperly at 417-847-3121.
