Habitat fundraiser collects over $4,000

Friday, April 15, 2011

It was a fun-filled evening for area residents who gathered April 2 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church to help in Habitat for Humanity Monett/Purdy's annual fundraising event.

With dinner catered by Maggie Mae's, of Miller, and high-energy performance of golden oldies by Branson's singing sensations The Hughes Brothers and a silent auction, those in attendance had ample opportunity to enjoy the evening.

Area businesses and individuals who donated items to the silent auction included: Coast to Coast; Cox Monett Hospital; Acamarbo's Restau-rant; Happy Nails; YMCA; Westco; Lai Lai's Restaurant; J&J Floorcovering; Bootleg-ger's; Monett Fire Depart-ment; Walmart; Preferred Pet Supply; Fritz Implement; Windmill Ridge Golf Course; Farm Pro; Main Street Feed; Monett (Boucher's) Green-houses; Race Brothers; Meeks Lumber; Sherwin-Williams; Mitzi Doss; Monett Agri-Center; Schreiber Foods; Titan Propane; Braum's Restaurant; Monett Plaza 8; Kay Johnson; Auto Zone; Monett Lightning Lube; Gambino's Pizza; Burger King; Big Baldy's BBQ; Shorty's Dogs; Virginia Mayer and Doug's Pro Lube.

About $4,000 was raised for local Habitat projects during the evening's events.
