Springfield, MO- Livestock Marketing Center: Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 4/13/11

   Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves steady to 3.00 lower,
yearlings 2.00 to 4.00 lower on a very limited test, Holsteins under 600
lbs steady to 2.00 higher, over 600 lbs mostly 2.00 to 5.00 lower with a
few steady.  Demand and supply moderate.  The bulk of the calf offering was
un-weaned fall calves with a few weaned calves in the mix.  Only scattered
sales of yearling cattle available.  A heavy supply of Holsteins with Buyers
actively bidding on those in the right flesh condition to graze.  Holsteins
headed for the feedlots not as well received as last week.  The feeder supply
included 34 percent steers, 25 percent Holsteins, 31 percent heifers, 10 percent
bulls, with 30 percent over 600 lbs.
