Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 4/13/11

Receipts:  1150    Last Week:  1200    Last Year:  1877

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold 2.00-3.00 lower and
slaughter bulls sold 2.00 lower. Slaughter buyers indicated they have
plenty of cows available to meet their needs and as a result slaughter
prices weakened. A few small dispersals were included in the offering
and most bred cows and cow/calf pairs were 2-7 years of age. Supply was
heavy and demand moderate for slaughter classes.
