Open auditions for the Monett Strawberry Festival play will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 21 at Denali Dreams, located at 316 E. Broadway in Monett. There are parts available for all ages. The play is based on historical accounts of growing and harvesting strawberries in the Monett area. For more information, call 772-7092.

The Kings Prairie Special Road District commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 at Grant's Restaurant in Monett.

The Aurora Chamber of Commerce will host the community Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 16 at White Park, located on the corner of Lewis and Shaw Drive. Pictures with the Easter bunny will begin at 10 a.m. For more information, call 417-678-4150.

Dr. Charles Taylor, president of Drury University, will be the guest speaker at the Monett Kiwanis meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 at Big Baldy's Restaurant, located on Highway 60 in Monett.

The Pierce City city-wide garage sale will be held on Saturday, April 16.

Tyson Foods "Crowin' For a Cure" Relay For Life team will host its eighth annual chicken dinner and garage sale on Saturday, April 16 in the south parking lot of Tyson Foods in Monett, located at the intersection of Kyler and County Streets. The garage sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the chicken dinner from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $5 per plate.

Silver teens will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14 at Big Baldy's BBQ on Highway 60, in Monett. For more information, call 235-9978.

The Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 18 at the Barry County Museum on Highway 112 south of Cassville. It will be a regular business meeting. All members and guests are invited to attend.

A meeting of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), Barry/Lawrence County Chapter #42, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20 at Ozark Methodist Manor, located at 205 S. College in Mt. Vernon.

A Lawrence County gospel sing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 17 at McKinley Christian Church, located four miles north on Highway 14 from Marionville. All visitors, singers and musicians are invited to attend.

A Dutch treat Monett Chamber of Commerce membership mingle will be held at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 21 at Denali Dreams, located at 316 E. Broadway in Monett. For more information, call the chamber at 235-7919.

The Monett Cubs and the Cassville Wildcats will compete in a Big 8 game on Saturday, April 16 at Hammons Field in Springfield. The game will begin 30 minutes following the Springfield Cardinals game, which starts at 2 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the Monett High School office, the Monett Central office or from Coach Goetz, Coach Calhoun or Cubs' baseball players.
