Lady Cubs take third at Aurora

The Monett Lady Cubs took third place in the 10-team field at the Aurora Invitational last Thursday.

Carl Junction was first with 125 points. Aurora finished second scoring 88 points. Monett recorded 78 points.

"With every week comes faster times," said Monett Head Coach Melanie Mayberry. "We are definitely going in the right direction, and the girls are continuing to work very hard. I am quite satisfied with their effort and performances for this time of year."

Results for the Lady Cubs were as follows:

First place

* Shot put: Jenny Frazier, 34'10".

Second place

* 4x800 meter relay: Sophie Fulton, Madeleine Weber, Brittany Schultz and Raigan Ratliff, 10:52.

Third place

* 800 meter: Raigan Ratliff, 2:37.9.

* Discus: Jenny Frazier, 93'5".

* Long jump: Faith Schmidt, 14'8".

The Monett track team will be in action on Tuesday at Nixa. Events are set to begin at 4 p.m.
