A Barry County woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash at 10:45 a.m. Friday.
The collision occurred on Highway 112 five miles east of Cassville when an eastbound 2000 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Anne L. Davis, 88, of Eagle Rock, collided head on with a westbound 2010 International semi truck, driven by Jason H. Hessee, 35, of Springfield, who was in the eastbound lane.
Davis was pronounced dead at 12:15 p.m. while in transport to Cox South Hospital. The body was taken to Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
Hessee received moderate injuries in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
This is the 22nd fatality accident for Troop D this year.
* A second wreck on Friday sent a Carl Junction man to a Joplin hospital with moderate injuries. The crash occurred at 12.45 p.m. on Highway 90 four miles west of Washburn when the driver of a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle, Danny L. Wallace, 58, lost control of the vehicle on a curve and left the roadway, striking a fence. Wallace was airlifted to St. John's Hospital in Joplin.
* Another motorcycle crash, occurring at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday on County Road 2100, two and a half miles north of Stotts City, left a Mt. Vernon woman with minor injuries. The crash occurred when the 2009 Yamaha V Star, operated by Judy A. Burks, 63, lost control of the vehicle and overturned in the roadway. Davis was taken to St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
