Monett relay teams shine at Aurora

The Monett Cubs track teams enjoyed a good day at the Aurora Invitational.

"We are improving every day," said Monett Track Coach Chad Depeť. "Our goal is to keep getting better. We saw some of that improvement today and now we have to continue down that path."

Placing for the Cubs were:

Second place

* 3,200-meter relay: Bill Townsend, Juan Renteria, Isaac Weber and Chris Renteria, 8:52.74.

* 800-meter: Bill Townsend, 2:12.

* 3,200-meter run: Chris Renteria, 10:33.

Third place

* 300-meter hurdles: Matt Murphy, 44.3.

The track team will be in action next Tuesday at Nixa. Events are set to begin at 4 p.m.
