Spring beauty

Friday, April 1, 2011

(Photo)
Spring shows all its colors in April, like the flowering dogwood tree at Monett's South Park next to Calendar Girl Desirae Fowler. The daughter of Danny and Lora Fowler, Desirae is an active senior at Monett High School, a state qualifier with Future Business Leaders of America, a member of M-Club, Book Club and the track team. She has qualified for national competition in speech and debate, appeared in the fall musical "Ruthless," and been active in Key Club, Thespians, Drama Club, volleyball and basketball. She worked in local elections in Barry County in 2010 and works part-time for Dr. Stephen Stidham. Desirae volunteers at the Community Kitchen and also serves as a tutor and babysitter. She is an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Stones Prairie where she has taught Sunday School and helped in community service projects. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and friends in activities like game night. Her siblings include a brother, Wade, and sister, Amber. The family has a pet dog, Maggie. Desirae plans to attend college next fall and major in international business. She hopes to travel the world, see diversities and find ways to help people overcome difficulties.
