Aaron Patton (2-0) picked up the win for the Cubs on the mound, throwing seven innings and striking out eight.
"Aaron didn't look like a sophomore on the mound today," said Monett Head Coach Michael Calhoun. "He has worked hard and earned this start. It's important for him to gain confidence early in the season."
The Cubs would score another run in the second and blew the game open in the sixth.
Enloe led off the sixth with a walk and promply stole second. He scored on an Andy Hagedorn single. Hagedorn then stole second and scored on an error.
Jesse Bremer and Nicky Roberts both reached on Pirate errors. Bremer scored on a throwing error by the catcher, and Roberts scored on a Colten Phillip's single. Phillps completed the Cubs' scoring when Aldridge doubled him home.
"After giving up over 20 runs in our last two ballgames, it was nice to see we only allowed two today," said Calhoun. "We need to focus on doing the little things right. Once you correct the little thing the big things, correct themselves."
The Cubs host Springfield Catholic today. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
