Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 3/16/11

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows opened fully steady and
closed 1.00-2.00 higher while slaughter bulls sold 1.00 higher on a heavy
supply. The offering included a light to moderate supply of bred cows and
cow/calf pairs, but some good quality from several small dispersals.
Supply was moderate and demand good for slaughter classes.

and 3rd stage 1075-1350 lbs most 900.00-1125.00, several from dispersals

mouth to aged pkg. 1225 lb cows from dispersal w/240-350 lb calves 1335.00.
Large 1-2  5-7 yrs pkg. 1500 lb cows w/babies to 160 lb calves 1400.00.
Medium and Large 2  couple 3-6 yrs 1100-1250 lb cows w/newborn and baby
calves 1125.00. Medium 1-2  4-5 yrs 900 lb cow w/200 lb calf 1125.00, 950
lb cow w/400 lb calf and rebred 1425.00.
