Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 3/2/11

Receipts:  884   Last Week:  1635   Last Year:  1137

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold 1.00-2.00 higher and
slaughter bulls sold fully 2.00 higher with instances 3.00 higher. With
receipts today one-half those of last week slaughter prices regained a
portion of that lost last week. A couple small dispersals provided a
moderate supply of bred cows and cow/calf pairs. Supply was moderate
and demand good for slaughter classes.
