Dairy Day highlights innovations

Market trends and demands provided topical material for presenters at Thursday's annual Dairy Day, sponsored by the Monett Chamber of Commerce.

Prices for milk products have grown substantially since the beginning of the year, said Wesley Tucker, agriculture business specialist. The price of milk rose to over $18 per hundredweight by the end of 2010. Cheese rose from $1.34 to $1.94 from Jan. 1 and mid-February. Although milk prices have dipped somewhat in recent weeks, Tucker expected an upward swing as the year progresses.
