Districts deal with snow day dilemma

State lawmakers have proposed House Bill 471 to help school districts deal with an excessive number of snow days to make up. Area school administrators are doubtful the legislation will pass or that it will help.

Dr. John Jungmann, Monett R-1 School District superintendent, attended a legislative forum recently where 31st District State Senate David Pearce spoke. Pearce said a law was passed after the January 2007 ice storm that provides direction for how to deal with excessive days out of class due to winter weather.
