Tuesday, February 22, 2011
MO Dept of Ag-USDA Market News
Receipts: 778 Last Week: 327 Last Year: 404
Compared to last Monday, slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 lower with the
greatest decline on fat breaking cows and slaughter bulls sold 4.00 higher. A
high percent of the offering was slaughter cows. With the snow gone and mud
dried up conditions were a lot more favorable to move cattle to market today
as reflected in total receipts. The supply of bred cows was moderate but cow/
calf pairs were scarce. Supply was heavy and demand good for slaughter classes.
