Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 2/16/11

Receipts:  1300   Last Week:  No Report   Last Year:  1112

   Compared to the last sale reported three weeks ago, slaughter cows sold
2.00-3.00 higher and slaughter bulls sold 5.00-6.00 higher. The offering
included several herd dispersals and a moderate supply of bred cows and
cow/calf pairs. Business is getting back to normal after a couple weeks
of snow and cold took a toll on both producers and livestock with mud the
major obstacle now. Supply was heavy and demand very good for slaughter
classes.
