Upbeat economic news was released by Jack Henry and Associates (JHA) this past week. Results for the software company's second quarter showed a 15 percent increase in revenue and gross profits and a 20 percent rise in net income over the same period a year ago.
For the quarter that ended on Dec. 31, 2010, JHA recorded total revenue of $242.6 million, up $31.7 million from the same quarter a year ago. Gross profit increased by $102.8 million. Net income for the first half of the 2010-11 fiscal year totaled $67.8 million, which translates to $.42 per diluted share, compared to $.36 a year ago.
