The Monett Municipal Court recorded possibly its busiest year on record during 2010. Police officers have been especially active in handling traffic cases.
The total number of cases entered in the court system, primarily based on the number of tickets issued by police officers, totaled 2,082 in 2010. Municipal Court Clerk Mechele Tharp told the Monett City Council the total reflected the largest caseload since computerized records have been kept. The 2010 total was up 295 from 2009.
