Any doubts Purdy Coach Grant Young had about how his Lady Eagles squad would respond after a seven-day layoff were alleviated with an 88-29 victory over the Miller Lady Cardinals.
"I thought we might have been just a little rusty in the first quarter," said Young. "But playing so many game to start our season prepared us to face this challenge."
Purdy jumped out to a 19-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and held a 49-18 advantage at halftime. The Lady Eagles would outscore Miller 31-10 in the third frame and 8-2 in the fourth quarter.
"I was excited that we got to play a lot of different kids in the game," said Young. "We stepped up our defensive intensity and used that momentum to generate offensive production."
Purdy was led in scoring by Shelby White and Addy Roller with 22 and 17 points respectively.
Also scoring for the Lady Eagles were: Audrey Patton, 11; Brooke Swadley, 12; Mattie White, 7; Shelby Scott, 6; Brittany Mareth, 5; Rachael Neill, 4; and Carleigh Hall and Bailey Spears, 2.
The Lady Eagles will be in action Tuesday night at Seneca. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
