The Pierce City Lady Eagles basketball team started off the new year on the right path with a 60-37 win over Greenfield Tuesday night.
"We played extremely well he first half," said Pierce City Head Coach Chelsea Perry. "We established out offense and were able to everything we wanted."
The Lady Eagles led 17-5 at the end of the first quarter and swelled the lead to 34-12 by halftime.
"I think as the season has progressed we have improved greatly on the defensive end," said Perry. "We have shown the ability to distribute the ball better and our shot selection has improved.
Kaelyn Osborn led Pierce City's scoring attack with 23 points. Krishna Merriman tallied 12 points. Megan Golubski chipped in 10 points. Emily Ashley and Christine Younker added 5 points apiece. Beth Parrigon scored 3 points. Mattie Parrigon finished with 2 points.
The Lady Eagles will be in action on Monday, Jan. 17 at Purdy.
