Lola Terry, 98, of Purdy, passed away at her home Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, with her family by her side. She was born Aug. 31, 1912 in Jenkins, Mo to Robert Elisha and Deila (Passley) Henson. She united in marriage to Norman Terry on May 16, 1936 in Purdy. He preceded her in death Sept. 10, 1972.
Lola was a homemaker and a member of the Arnhart Baptist Church of Purdy and the Arnhart WMU.
She is survived by two sons: Paul Terry, of Purdy and Roger and wife, Virginia Terry, of Monett; two daughters: Joyce and husband, Leon Kelly, of Monett and Jo Ellen and husband, Charles Stults, of Purdy; seven grandchildren: Bob Stults, Vicky Woods, Debby Leamon, David Terry, Jill Braden, Mark Kelly and Leonanna Jo Ruetschi; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, along with four brothers: Alvin Henson, Newell Henson, Orville Henson and Virgil Henson; and four sisters: Alta Davis, Allie Holloway, Violet Lee and Alma Terry.
A visitation was held on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011 at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011 at Arnhart Baptist Church in Purdy with Rev. Jerry Williams and Rev. John Duncan officiating. Burial followed at Arnhart Cemetery.
