The Verona Wildcats fell 48-33 to the Marionville Comets Tuesday night.
Verona jumped out to a 13-10 at the end of the first quarter but could only muster 20 total points over the remaining three quarters.
"We failed to execute on the offensive end," said Verona Head Coach Brad Stewart. "Marionville is a solid club and made it difficult to get good looks at the basket."
The Wildcats trailed at halftime 24-21 but would not get closer than three in the second half.
"We need to be a little more patient when we have the ball," said Stewart. "We need to make the extra pass to find the open man."
The Wildcats were led in scoring by Seth Losack with 11 points. Cody Ernsburger and Ascencion Estrada pitched in 9 points apiece. Wesley Kissinger contributed 3 points. Larry Patterson scored 1 point.
The Wildcats will be in action Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at Thomas Jefferson.
