Springfield-Springfield Livestock Marketing Center: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 12/20/2010

   Compared to last Monday, slaughter cows sold 1.00-2.00 higher and slaughter
bulls sold steady to 1.00 lower. A large number of cows went to slaughter
including several cull dairy cows. A couple dispersals were included in the
offering and provided a moderate supply of bred cows but the supply of cow/
calf pairs was light. Supply was moderate and demand good for slaughter
classes.
Note: The Marketing Center will be closed December 27th through the 29th for
the Holidays and the next cow and bull auction will be held January 3rd 2011.
