MMS wrestling Cubs pin yet another great season

The Monett Cubs Middle School wrestling team finished its season on Tuesday night, traveling to Republic to take on the Tigers. Monett won 15 of 22 matches on the night. The Cubs won their ninth dual in a row.

Wesley Ambramovitz highlighted the night by winning three matches for the Cubs.

Winning matches for the Cubs by pin were: Jacob Negre, Jario Rueda, Keanu Reed, Kedric Brink, Michael Renfro and Ambramovitz.

Winning by way of technical fall were Dominiok Witherow and Jaron Beason.

Winning by major decision were Ben Morris and Wyatt Rook.

Others winning matches for the Cubs by way of decision were Jaron Beason, Sean Jastal, Ambramovitz (2) and Erwin Prez.

Coach's Award

Most takedowns: Dominiok Witherow (8).

Fastest pins: Wesley Ambramovitz (1:15).

Most exciting matches: Jaron Beeson.

Wrestler of the night: Wesley Ambramovitz, Jario Rueda and Erwin Perez.

Monett Youth Wrestling update

The Monett Youth Wrestling Club traveled to Neosho to compete in the Wildcat Extreme Holiday Tournament. Thirteen Monett youth participated in the tournament.

Placing first for Monett were: Matthew Bahl (Div. II, 55 pounds), Josh Bahl (Div. III, 70 pounds), and Ian Meyer (Div. IV, 125 pounds).

Placing second for the Cubs were: Joseph Semerad (Div. II, 60 pounds), Tanner Wright (Div. II, 70 pounds), and Cole Davis (Div. II, 70 pounds).

Placing third in Neosho were: Hunter Pyle (Div. III, 110 pounds) and Ben Cole (Div. IV 170 pounds).

Also wrestling for the Cubs were: Gunnar Bradley (Div. III, 65 pounds), Karter Brink (Div. III, 60 pounds), Jace Stowe (Div. III, 65 pounds) Brody Crawford (Div. IV, 80 pounds) and Aaron Beeson (Div. IV, 90 pounds).
