Doug Weatherly, age 44, of Monett, died on Monday, Dec. 13 at Freeman Hospital in Neosho.
Weatherly was born on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 1966 in Springfield. He was the son of the late David Weatherly and Mary Lou (Kirby) McGeehee. He married Joni Ellison on July 29, 1989 in Branson.
Mr. Weatherly was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monett. He graduated from Marionville High School in 1984, then graduated from Evangel College in Springfield and received his masters degree from William Woods College in Fulton. Mr. Weatherly had been a coach and teacher in the Pierce City School system for 22 years.
Surviving are the following: his wife, Joni, of Monett; two daughters: Rachelle J. Weatherly and Breann M. Weatherly, of Monett; his mother: Mary Lou McGeehee, of Springfield; one brother: Mike Wilson, of Springfield; and one sister: Marsha Hammond, of Milwaukee, Wis.
The family will received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16 at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City. Funeral services for Mr. Weatherly will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 in the Pierce City High School gymnasium with Rev. Clif Crocket officiating. Burial will follow in the Pierce City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pierce City Athletic Department or to the Doug Weatherly Memorial Scholarship Fund and may be sent to the school or the funeral home.
