Lottie Mae Angel, age 75, formerly of Monett, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 10, 2010 while at the Springfield Skilled Care Center in Springfield, MO. She was born on January 16, 1935 to the late Claude and Dorothy (Harris) Jackson in Fairview, MO.
Lottie was raised in Monett, MO and graduated from Monett High School, Class of 1953. In 1955 she married William "Bill" Angel and they raised their four children in Springfield and Scottsdale, AZ. Lottie worked in the medical assistance and property management fields. She enjoyed the residents in both areas and made many dear friends.
Her last job was at Springfield Skilled Care Center where she worked 17 years and where she was dearly cared for by her loving co-workers during her last weeks.
Lottie was preceded in death by her husband, Bill and her sister, Sharon Muench. She is survived by her three sons: James "Mike" Angel and his wife, Teresa, of Tulsa, OK; William "Bill" Angel and his wife, Peggy, of Springfield; and Jeff Angel and his wife, Andrea, of Phoenix, AZ; her daughter: Cheri Smith and her husband, Les, of Nixa, MO; her sisters: Shirley Bass, of Monett and Claudette Huggins, of San Marcos, Texas; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as her nieces and nephews, and many friends that will all miss her dearly.
Funeral services for Lottie will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 13, 2010 at the New Liberty Methodist Church in Monett with Rev. Rhonda Quoriz officiating. The family will receive friends at the Buchanan Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, Dec. 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. A private family graveside service will take place in the Kings Prairie Cemetery at a later date.
