Springfield-Springfield Livestock Marketing Center: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 12/13/2010

   Compared to last Monday, slaughter cows sold 1.00-2.00 higher and slaughter
bulls sold steady. A high percent of the offering was slaughter cows include-
ing several cull dairy cows. Bred cows and cow/calf pairs were scarce. Cold
air driven by strong winds and some light snow hit the area over the weekend.
Livestock’s energy needs increased dramatically keeping a number of those
normally in attendance at the cow and bull auction at home tending to their
cattle. Supply was moderate and demand good for slaughter classes.
Note: The Marketing Center will hold their final cow and bull auction for
2010 next Monday December 20th.

short and solid mouth to aged 2nd and 3rd stage 1060-1140 lbs 550.00-685.00.
Large 1-2  3 yr 2nd stage 1515 lb indiv. 910.00; 7 yrs to broken mouth 2nd
