Barbara Jean (Bobbie) Ratliff passed away on Dec. 9, 2010 in Springfield, Mo after she lost her battle with diabetes of more than 40 years. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mildred and Wayne Phillips, and her sister Sandy McCormick.
Bobbie was born in Des Moines, Iowa on Dec. 14, 1945. She lived in Mitchellville for many years then moved to Monett, Mo. in 1984. She met her husband John in 1989 then they married in 1993.
She is survived by her cherished husband, John Ratliff of 18 years; two sons: Kenneth and wife, Tracy Johnston, of Des Moines, Iowa and Adam and wife, Cindy Woodard, of Ames, Iowa; two daughters: Debra and husband, Howard Higgins, of Springfield, Ill. and Renee Russell, of Girard, Kan.; one sister: Dorothy and husband, Bill Mart, of Monett; brother-in-law: Tom McCormick, of Aurora and sister-in-law: Deborah and husband, Herman Oetker of Monett; 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four nephews and one niece.
Bobbie loved boating and fishing on Table Rock Lake, playing cards and spending time with her family. She was loved and admired by all those who knew her; she will be missed by many.
A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 and visitation will follow until 8:30 p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri.
