Mr. George Richard Henson, age 85, of Monett, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 at Cox South in Springfield. He was born on May 17, 1925 in Pleasant Ridge, Mo. to Amos and Lucy Ann (Haley) Henson. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Childress on April 20, 1948. She survives.
George retired from Jumping Jack Shoe in Monett. He served in the United States Army in India during WWII. He also was a member of the Fundamental Methodist Church of Monett.
George is survived by his wife, Evelyn, along with one sister: Mildred Lawson, of Monett; two granddaughters: Sherry and husband, Darren Fabro, of Billings and Robin Kimberling, of Billings; and four great-grandchildren: Jessica and Olivia Fabro and Kyle and Kortney Kimberling.
George was preceded in death by his parents, along with one daughter, Sharal Walker, on Nov. 16, 2000.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010 at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Nickle and Rev. Ronnie Howerton officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora, Mo.
