Willa Dean Nine, age 75, of Monett, MO, passed from this life on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, MO following a lengthy illness. Willa Dean was born on March 7, 1935 in Bristow, OK, the daughter of the late Earl and Mildred (Gibson) Farmer. She graduated from Olive High School in Olive, OK in 1953 as class valedictorian and furthered her education at Oklahoma State University.
Willa Dean was an assistant for Dr. Glass before working as a childcare provider for Cloud's Daycare in Monett. She was also a faithful member of the Countryside Christian Church in Monett.
While attending OSU, Willa Dean Farmer met the love of her life, Lonnie Nine, and they were married on Sept. 16, 1954 in Drumright, OK. He survives. Additional survivors include four sons: Michael Nine and wife, Karen, of Neosho, MO; Patrick Nine and wife, Tammy, of Carthage, MO; Craig Nine and wife, Linda, of Battle Lake, MN; and Chester Nine, of Liberty, MO and fianceť, Amy Mardiat, of Roeland Park, KS; one daughter: Vikki Branum and husband, Randy, of Monett; ten grandchildren: Bekka Matthews, Jamin Branum, Susana Branum, Anna Nine, Sara Nine, Kara Smith, Kaci Miller, Krista Peak, Christian Wilke and Joey Nine; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers: Harold Dane Farmer and wife, Vi, and Leon Farmer, both of Drumright, OK; and one sister: Barbara Hurt, of Drumright.
Funeral services for Mrs. Nine will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010 at Countryside Christian Church with Jeff Robertson, minister, officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
