Mr. Junior Horton, age 75, of Monett, passed away at his home on Friday, Nov. 26, 2010. He was born on March 1, 1935 in Eagle Rock, MO to Clarence Gilbert and Nita (Tash) Horton. He was united in marriage to Shirley Long on Feb. 15, 1953.

Junior retired from the Horton Termite Control, previously he had served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff and a Reserve Monett Police Officer. He was a member of the NRA, Monett Sportsman's League, Monett Kiwanis and was a long standing member of the Republican Party.

Junior is survived by his wife, Shirley, along with two daughters: Rebecca Vineyard and Sharon Ridenour, both of Monett; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Junior was preceded in death by one brother: Elmer Horton; three sisters: Clara Bell Carlisle, Clarice Ball and Bertha Horton.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery near Monett, MO.
