A single vehicle wreck on Wednesday has left an Exeter man dead.
The wreck occurred at 8:25 p.m. on Highway 76 at Ridgley when the driver of a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer, Jimmie L. Stelling, 58, ran off the road and overturned. The driver was ejected. The Blazer then caught fire.
Stelling was taken to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield where he was pronounced dead at 12:50 a. m. on Nov. 25. Stelling was not wearing a safety belt.
This makes the 103rd fatality accident in the Troop D Region for 2010.
* A two-vehicle crash on Wednesday has left two Cassville men injured. The wreck took place at 6 p.m. on Farm Road 1200 four miles north of Shell Knob when the driver of a northbound 2005 Yamaha motorcycle, Trevor C. Messbarger, 24, struck a southbound motorcycle head on. That motorcycle, a 2007 Honda, was operated by Shane P. Fancher, 27. Both men were taken to St. John's Hospital - Cassville with moderate injuries. Neither was wearing a safety device.
