Ada Acosta Alvarado, age 78, of Monett, MO passed away on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at St. John's Hospital in Joplin, MO. Ada was born and raised in Puerto Rico, the daughter of Andres Rivera and Emilia Acosta.
She was a homemaker and attended the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Cassville, MO where she was very active. She lived her life according to God's word and was a constant figure within the church. Her faith ran so deep that it was still present in her final hours. Her life is a true testament. Despite her absence the strength of her character and love continues to reverberate. She will be greatly missed.
Ada Acosta married Julio Alvarado in Westwood, NJ in 1985 and he survives. Additional survivors include two sons: Alberto Febus and wife, Eva, of New York City, NY; Frank Lugo and wife, Ana, of Grand Rapids, MI; five daughters: Diana Foret and Sonia Baez, both of Monett; Zulma Hernandez and husband, Humberto, of Joplin; Maritza Lugo, of New York City, NY; and Marisol Lugo; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
|Ada was preceded in death by two sons, Harry and Angel Febus and one granddaughter, Kathy Baez.||Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday Nov. 22, 2010 at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.||Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.|
